NT: Epistle to the Hebrews, Chapter 10

Hebrews 10:1-39

10:1 Humanity needed to level-up, spiritually. Once learning the elementary truth, that God exists and interacts with humanity, humanity becomes ready to advance. The Old Testament is the shadow of the New Testament, not without merit but incomplete. For together they make up the whole. The law of God's philosophy tied together with the life and Spirit and intention of it.

10:2-4 If the antiquated way of worshiping, sacrificing, was effective it would not have needed repeating. One sacrifice would have been enough for a lifetime. Yet because people felt they needed to continually sacrifice, they evidenced themselves its unproductive and inefficient nature. The New Testament makes the proclamation that our connection with God is direct; we make offerings to Him through our love and compassionate action.

10:5 From Psalm 40:6-8 it is reiterated to us that sacrifice does not develop our character, our faith or our relationship with God. God has no pleasure in sacrifices because His hope is for each of His children to discover and express compassion, growth of spirit.

10:6-7 Therefore came compassion manifested into a soul on the earth to teach of the will of God. A soul, a spiritual energy, came with His philosophy and taught humanity an effective and rewarding way to develop their soul and their faith. A lasting way. A complete way.

10:8-10 He took away the first and established the second. In our generation, most cultures no longer make sacrifices but there is something to be learned from this as a metaphor: Our God is the God of life, the God of life's love and energy. To speak with Him and to perceive His answers, we must become as He is: a promoter of life, not death.

10:11 We are encouraged to live a fruitful life. Be productive. Contribute to life. Rather than participating in repetitive and fruitless activities, listen to this scripture. This scripture which preaches to and propels souls toward their potential and purpose of contributing to life. Developing the character of soul, changing, growing, forming, establishing.

10:12-14 The only sacrifice which could ever help humanity has occurred: the life and manifestation of living, breathing humility and compassion. God does not require sacrifice but He allowed a soul to sacrifice itself to teach humanity that lesson once and for always.

10:15-16 This verse brings us to Jeremiah 31:33, where we are reminded of our personal relationship with God. When through our faith we invite Him in, He exists within our hearts and minds. He speaks to us, individually.

10:17-18 Knowing us so well, He works with us each, specifically, to overcome our tribulations but also our shortcomings. He helps us to work through and eliminate the traits which taint or hinder the growth of our character in faith and compassion. When we work earnestly to become brighter and happier, kinder and more humble... He un-tethers us from our past mistakes. With joy.

10:19-23 Therefore be bold in your spiritual growth, an intricate effort between you and our Creator. With a heart full of faith and with assurance involve yourself in nature's intention: life for all. When you become and remained focused in faith, He is able to extricate you from darkness and chaos and confusion... from both internal and external tribulation.

He opens up your perception, your ability to perceive beyond what is currently suffocating your growth. In an infinite and unknown universe, He establishes you, opens the curtain to your purpose and potential. He impresses upon you His love and belief in you.

Hebrews urges us not to take for granted what the message of Jesus brought to the world: an ability to connect spirituality. To become more than just a vulnerable and perishing body. To access and utilize the spiritual energy of the world. To harness the force of life and wield it for your personal truth.

10:24 Place your hope in God as a stone would rest in a clear and pure and deep body of water. Established, solidified, cemented in focused faith and truth. Unwavering, unchanging... standing firmly and boldly alongside Him, within Him who has made and ensures the delivery of so many beautiful promises to you.

10:25 Recognize and rejoice in the meaning of each individual of the whole.

1 Corinthians 12
12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.
15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

For although we may not always understand or realize why or how another soul affects us, God knows and has precisely placed each person. Stir up love and good works because your life, your particular soul has the potential and the purpose of being impactful here. Encourage one another toward compassion and joy... more and more every day. Increasing in faith and compassion always.

We are fundamental, spiritual kin. Yet we do possess differences. God has decided that each person's character contributes to a necessary and beloved diversity. Each difference enables a person to put something into the energy of life which would not have existed without them.

10:26-27 Earnest effort in compassion is required to claim and utilize spiritual love and energy. To reject the compassionate nature of life is to reject life... others' and your own. Adversaries of good are eliminated.

10:28-29 Even evil done in ignorance was distasteful to God. Now, knowing better, choosing evil is an even worse offense. To whom much is given, much is expected: Luke 12:48. God has given the ability to perceive right and wrong, good and evil. We have intelligent consciousness and we have the responsibility of using and listening to it.

10:30-31 For the compassionate soul, falling into the hands of God is the most blessed thing that could ever happen. For the evil soul, the last and furthest fall. Deuteronomy 32:35-36 speaks of God's judgement but you should look forward to the moment. Your moment with God where together you review all of the efforts you made in your life toward love and faith. Where you appreciate each others mutual effort in all that you accomplished... in every way you've grown.

God's instance on eliminating evil should be further peace for you, as you work through yourself to be entirely disconnected from it.

10:32-33 The endurance of those in the beginning times of this faith are referenced. Although the whole world was against them as they claimed and promoted a new and different way of life, they remained and worked in bold faith.

10:34 Remember the compassion within you. Stay focused on your values separate from material wealth and power. No one can every take away your relationship with God and your relationship with God is the only thing you need to thrive in life (here and elsewhere).

The disciples and apostles let the world and their adversaries take away everything they had because they knew that all they ever needed (God) could never be taken away.

10:35-36 Do not throw away your belief in this faith... its rewards abound within, toward and around you, eternally.

10:37-38 Our creator returns to us. We witness spiritual manifested: Habakkuk 2:3-4. Do not draw back from good or compassion or life.

10:39 Allow your soul to be saved (led and nourished and supported and loved) and join the effort of helping others in the same manner.
